Talent movement
Talent movement shows who joined, who left, and who moved to a different business unit or position since 2024. Pick a person to see their path as a timeline, from their oldest recorded change to their latest — including any promotions along the way.
What Counts as a Movement

| Movement | A change of business unit or position between two monthly HR data snapshots | The date of the snapshot where the change first appeared |
| Promotion | A movement where the person's PS level went up, or their layer went up without their PS level going down | As for Movement |
Things to know:
- A future last working date is a notice period, not an exit. It is counted as an exit in a later monthly data load, once the date has passed.
- A change in PS level or layer on its own, with no change of business unit or position, is not recorded as a movement.
- The data is rebuilt each time a new monthly HR data snapshot is loaded into TalentForge.
Who Can See It
This page is not open to everyone.
- Admins can always see it.
- Everyone else needs an admin to turn it on for them in User Admin. New accounts start without it.
If you don't have access, Talent movement does not appear in your navigation sidebar, and if you open the page directly you are sent back to Home.
💡 Tip: If an admin has just given you access, reload the page to see the menu item.
Business unit scope
What you see follows your business-unit access:
- With access to all business units, you see every movement.
- Otherwise, you only see movements that start or end in one of your business units.
- When someone moves between one of your units and a unit outside your access, the side outside your access is hidden and shown as —.
- The Business unit filter only lists your units.
The Page Layout
Type chips
At the top, four chips show how many people fall into each type. Click one to narrow the list:

The counts are people, not events. Someone who moved three times counts once. The counts also follow your other filters.
Search, filters and sort

A line under the filters tells you how many people match, for example "Showing 50 people of 1,240".
People list
Each person appears once, as a card showing:
- Their name
- Their employee ID, join date and number of stops (recorded changes)
- Their most recent business unit and position
The list shows 50 people per page. Use Previous and Next at the bottom to move between pages.
Following a Person's Path
Click a person in the list to open their path on the right. (On a narrow screen, the page scrolls down to it.)
The path panel shows:
- Their name, their join date (or "Join date not on record") and how many stops they have.
- A colour legend: green for joined or promoted, amber for movement, red for exit.
- A timeline of stops, from the oldest to the latest. Each stop shows its date, its type (New joiner, Movement, Promotion or Exit), the business unit and the position.
The latest stop is selected when the path opens. Click any stop to see its details:

Talent Movement in Career Navigator
If you have access to Talent movement, each employee's page in Career Navigator also has a Talent movement section with the same path and stop details. It follows the same business-unit scope as this page.
Empty and Error Messages
| Message | What it means |

| "No one matches this search." | No one fits your search and filters. Loosen them. |
| "No join, move, or exit recorded since 2024." | This person has no recorded changes since 2024. |
| "Could not load talent movement." | The list didn't load. Reload the page. |
| "Could not load this path." | The person's path didn't load. Click them again or reload the page. |
Limitations
- Only from 2024. Earlier joins, exits and moves are not shown.
- Monthly, not daily. Moves are found by comparing monthly snapshots. Several changes within the same month appear as one, dated to the snapshot.
- Fixed year options. The Event year and Join year filters offer 2024, 2025 and 2026 only.
- Not real time. Changes appear after the next monthly HR data load.
- No export. You can't download the list from this page.
